So Edward (who I remember when he first came to St James as the son of the new Vicar, at age 6) just turned 21. What the?? Where did all that time go?
Anyway, the theme was National Dress. So I came as a Silver Fern. Yay for my excellent sewing skills!
I freehand stitched the logo on the front and machine stiched the white letters on the back. The velcro bibs are courtesy of my netball team. Pity not many people dressed up. Losers. Maybe they knew I would look so good that they shouldn't even bother. The photo below is my "Does my bum look big in this?" pose. Note: the correct answer is "Yes, and I like it that way".
I just noticed you can see a nice bruise on my elbow. From netball THREE weeks ago!
Paul Holmes is gone
Oh well. Although he didn't set the dance floor on fire, he certainly burned rather nicely on my back porch. I want Suzanne (aka Richard the bastard) to win anyway. Go Suzie!!
Note I am wearing my new 'fish' hoodie that Sarah made for my birthday. I've hardly taken it off since I got it.
The fish hoodie
Yeah baby! I reckon these would sell like hotcakes! Maybe only to wierd people like me, but what the hey :) I LOVE this hoodie!
Rat Photos below
(You have been warned!)
The wee ratties are growing bigger by the day. Still uber-cute though :)
This is the cutest little school bus! It's for taking the babies to school once a week or so. I now have a second cage that lives at work so it's a little easier than lugging the travel cage around.
I hope to blog a little more regularly next week. I only have 2 games of netball planned, rather than the five I played this week. Life is a little crazy at the mo.

Fiona, do you have a tattoo on your back shoulder?! If so, you are perhaps equally as "rebellious" as I am. Good work! hahaha. Did I tell you that I plan to get a tattoo of a koru at some point in the not-too-distant future? (Maybe when I get home from NZ, unless the mood strikes me while I'm still there)
yeah that's my fish that I got when I was about 22. I got one last year on my lower back too. Also a fish!
This post has inspired me to share a Saskatchewanism with you - where I come from (and in my province only) we call a hoodie a "bunnyhug." I realize that this is ridiculous, but that's what we call it in Saskatchewan. You know, just incase you hear me referring to my bunnyhug and you have no idea what I am talking about (kind of like when you said "hen's night" on the phone last night and I had to ask you to repeat yourself about 3 times.... from what I understand, that's what we call a "stagette"). Cheers!
great cossie! one of my pet peeves is people not dressing up for dress up parties. but then my other pet peeve is not feeling like dressing up and going to a party and being picked on for not dressing up. i'm driven by mood and it is a fine line. anyway, yes, your sewing skills are awesome. and thanks for the rat warning:)
Good riddance to Mr Holmes.
Yay for fancy dress parties! Boo for Dorks that ruin it by not dressing up (although I guess at 21....) Yay for the Fish hoody (or is that the fish snugglebunny!) Looks great - Even if I say so myself! And the Rats are soo cute, their little bus is the best!
Hahahaha sez, that's the fish "bunnyhug," not "snugglebunny." Although I kind of like snugglebunny... I might have to add that to my vocabulary!
Oooh, the ski trip sounds like a ton of fun! When do you need a solid answer by? I will try to let you know asap, I just need to figure out my budget (and I still don't know how much $$ I have in NZ dollars... all I know is that it's more than I have in Canadian dollars! That's always a good thing!) :o)
Well we need to pay the deposit in a week or so... I can cover that and you can fix it up when you get here :) Let me know.
Otherwise, you will have our house all to yourself for the weekend, and can have a wild party without us!
I'm just working on my budget right now... my initial reaction is that I may have to pass (but I'll figure that out this weekend when I finish my first draft of the ol' budget), but I'm sure could be convinced to come along - it sounds like an awesome time! Where are you going?
Ohakune. Near lake Taupo. Skiing on Mt. Ruapehu
I am thinking that I'd love to go for the sight-seeing, but as you know I've been having knee problems. I see a knee specialist tomorrow morning. But I can almost say for sure that I'll come along for the ride, as long as I don't have a school committment on that weekend. I doubt I will, but I haven't had any contact with my host teacher yet. I've tried to get in contact with someone at the school, so hopefully that communication will come soon. I'm 95% sure that you can count me in!
Yay!! I'll pay the deposit as soon as you let me know 100%.
Hey Fi, I'm coming! But just to sight-see. The knee specialist figures I have a tear in the cartiledge under my right knee cap, and a knee brace won't help it much. So instead of risking another injury, I'll just come along for the sight-seeing! Looking forward to it! :oD
Oh wait, I suppose I should still talk to my co-op teacher before I commit. Oops! Hahaha. Still haven't heard from anyone - I don't even know who my teacher is!
Never mind. I'm sure they won't need you so early in the term! I've paid the deposit and so we are set. I'm just sight-seeing also. Just found out the school ball (prom?) is on that weekend - Dammit! I was looking forward to going :(
Yay! Can't wait to go sight-seeing with you. Oh, and what's this about trying to blog more regularly next week? You haven't posted in 2 weeks! hahaha.
:P~~~~~~~~
Have blogged now, so there.
